Instructor training
The instructor training, including qualifications Flight Instructor (FI), Instrument Rating Instructor (IRI), and Class Rating Instructor (CRI), are programmes designed to train experienced pilots to teach other pilots.
Flight Instructor (FI)
The Flight Instructor (FI) qualification is a training programme designed to train pilots to become flight instructors. This qualification allows an experienced pilot to teach other candidates, whether they are beginners or undergoing training for additional licences.
Instrument Rating Instructor (IRI)
The Instrument Rating Instructor (IRI) qualification is a certification that allows a pilot to teach instrument flying. This qualification is intended to train instructors specialised in teaching the skills necessary to fly an aircraft under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR).
Class Rating Instructor (CRI)
The Qualification as a Class Rating Instructor (CRI) is a certification that allows a pilot to teach other pilots how to fly aircraft of a specific category, such as single-engine or multi-engine aircraft.
Examiner training
The examiner training, including qualifications Flight Examiner (FE), Instrument Rating Examiner (IRE), Class Rating Examiner (CRE) and Flight Instructor Examiner (FIE), These are designed to train experienced pilots to assess and certify the skills of candidates for specific licences and qualifications.
Flight Examiner (FE)
FE training enables an examiner to assess pilots wishing to obtain or renew their private pilot licence (PPL) or commercial pilot licence (CPL). Examiners must have a mastery of the skills required to assess candidates' performance during practical exams and ensure they meet safety and regulatory standards.
Instrument Rating Examiner (IRE)
The IRE qualification allows an examiner to assess pilots' skills within the framework of Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) training. IREs verify that candidates are capable of flying using only onboard instruments, adhering to IFR procedures. IRE training also includes theoretical aspects on the assessment and certification of instrument flying skills.
Class Rating Examiner (CRE)
The CRE course prepares examiners to assess the skills of pilots seeking ratings for specific aircraft categories, such as single-engine or multi-engine aeroplanes. CREs must have in-depth knowledge of the characteristics of these aircraft and regulatory requirements. They assess candidates' performance during practical examinations in the relevant class of aircraft.
Flight Instructor Examiner (FIE)
The FIE qualification allows an examiner to assess flight instructors who wish to obtain or renew their Flight Instructor (FI) qualification. FIEs must ensure that instructors possess the necessary skills to teach safely and effectively. FIE training includes courses on instructional assessment, instructional standards, and crew resource management (CRM).
